Choosing types of flowers and colors can be quite difficult. It will determine the style and mood of your wedding day. Whether you have envision your day Luxurious & Elegant, Rustic, Shabby chic, Boho; it will all depend on the flowers, colours and decorations you choose!
Make sure that the flowers you like are in season also in Italy. Sometimes it can be confusing as they might be in season in your home country but are not available in Lake Como. This is why we are here!

March / April : Tulips, Hyacinth, lilly of the Valley, Ranunculus, Peonies, Garden Roses, Anemone, Olive branches.
Wedding season on Lake Como begins in Spring. The season has the most selection of flowers. Tulips come in so many different shades and are never boring, it can be the perfect flower to add colours to you wedding. You can decide to go for bold colours with vibrant hues for a more fun wedding or have a more classic, romantic look with pastel colours and whites.
Peonies are absolutely gorgeous and romantic and they also come in different shades. My favorite are white, soft pink and hot pink. A great mixture together! They tend to be more expensive than roses so you can always mix it with some classic roses or garden roses.
Ranunculus are just super romantic and dreamy.Perfect to include in your bridal bouquet!
Lake Como in Spring is so gorgeous. Everything is blooming and green. Most venues here will have plenty of flowers around and some have gorgeous wisteria everywhere.
May/ June : Peonies, hydrangea, Delphinium, Lilly of the Valley, olive branches.
May in Lake Como, is the month where Peonies are mostly in. A classic white Peonie bouquet is always a romantic option. You can also mix different color shades of Peonies or mix it with Roses, Olive Branches, Baby Breath, Delphinium etc... During these two months, pastel colors are the most used colours. Peonies are usually available in different shades of pinks, absolutely perfect for pink lovers.
July / August : Hydrangea, orchids, Stephanotis, Sunflowers, stock, lemons, freesia.
Summer weddings are the most fun ones. For a more unique and Italian look, Lemon trees are the best centre piece idea! You can also use lemons and leaves, great compositions for imperial tables. Lemons centre pieces go extremely well with Sunflowers bouquets. Yellow and bright colours are just perfect for a summer wedding!
You can also decide to be more traditional and elegant and choose Orchids, Hydrangea and Roses. Pastel colours are always in and you can really enjoy a wide selection of Hydrangeas soft colours for beautiful flower arrangements.
Some venues during summer will have beautiful, colourful hydrangea in their gardens which are a perfect background for photos!
September / October : Calla Lily, Dahlia, Hydrangea, Camelia
For a more distinctive and unique wedding Calla Lily bouquets are the most elegant option. White Calla Lily with Hydrangea are a great look for romantic centre pieces. Whites, burgundy, greens and gold with the mix of lots of candles is the best look for magical Autumn wedding on Lake Como. You can also use different type of fruits as a decor for example: Grapes, pears and pomegrate. You can decide to mix them with flowers or have them in seperate vases or scattered around the table. You can also use colours like red, burgundy and orange which are perfect for an autumn wedding !
Gypsophilia (also called baby breath) can be found all year round and so are roses, which symbolize true love, passion and beauty and therefore are the most popular flowers used by couples.
Choose your flowers wisely and don't mix too much. Sometimes less is more!
